Mouthing off
Mouthing off

I've been asked to participate in a project where pictures of the two Finnish Presidential candidates, Sauli Niinistö and Pekka Haavisto, have been cut into squares and each square given to a Finnish artist to paint in their own style. I was given a piece of conservative candidate Niinistö's mouth, mounted on a block of wood, which I have been carrying around in my jacket pocket all day.
I spent my morning enlarging a picture of wall street banker Bernard Madoff's face to the correct proportions, then cut out a corresponding part of his mouth which I'll now paint. Seems like a dramatic comparison but I think Mr Niinistö represents the same neoliberal values as Madoff did as the King of Wall Street. Nobody suspected there was anything fishy about Maddoff's corporations.
